By a Circular dated 16 January 2025, Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission ("SFC"), the lead financial regulator for the licensing and supervision of virtual asset trading, introduced enhancements to its licensing regime for virtual asset trading platforms ("VATPs"). The enhancements extend the SFCss previously implemented swift licensing process to all new VATP applicants that submit applications after 18 December 2024.
