Berlin/Frankfurt/Dusseldorf/Munich—Global law firm Dentons has advised the international environmental and waste management service provider Nehlsen Aktiengesellschaft on the acquisition of Karl Meyer AG. The acquisition is still subject to antitrust approval. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

The Karl Meyer Group, founded in 1947 and based in Wischhafen in Lower Saxony, is one of the leading environmental and waste management service providers in northern Germany, with approximately 800 employees. Due to a lack of succession within the family, the owners have decided to place the future of the company in other hands.

For Nehlsen CEO Oliver Groß, the merger of the two companies offers enormous advantages: “The merger holds great potential: the strengthened regional presence will make processes in all areas of waste disposal more efficient. Furthermore, the expansion of the joint leading position in port, island and ship disposal is an important step towards becoming a maritime full-service provider.
