Our team in Nicaragua provided key legal advice to Financiera Fundeser, S.A. in its transformation from a financial institution to a microfinance institution. The Corporate Department of Dentons Muñoz Nicaragua served as lead advisor in the process of deregulation from the Nicaraguan Financial Institutions Regulator and assisted Fundeser in gathering information and adapting its corporate documents, along with the pertinent amendments to its articles of incorporation and bylaws to comply with the requirements of the Nicaraguan Microfinance Commission (CONAMI).

Following this transition, the Nicaraguan Financial Institutions Regulator authorized the revocation of Fundeser's license to operate as a financial institution last January and Fundeser is now registered with CONAMI in response to a strategic decision to adapt to the new needs of its clients, despite the impact of the pandemic.
