Washington, D.C.—Dentons has launched a previously announced combination with a leading law firm in Honduras to further its growth strategy in Latin America and the Caribbean ("LAC").

Dentons has combined with Gustavo Zacapa y Asociados in Honduras, a firm with more than 60 years' history and an excellent reputation in both local and international markets.  Its multidisciplinary practice includes corporate, litigation and advisory work.  It specializes in Corporate Law, Intellectual Property, Sanitary Registrations and Regulatory Affairs, Tax Law, Employment Law, Administrative Law, and Notarial Services. The firm in Honduras will now be known as Dentons Muñoz Zacapa.

These also follow the earlier launch of Dentons Muñoz in Central America, with offices in Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama, Nicaragua, and San José and Liberia in Costa Rica, and of Dentons López Velarde in Mexico and Dentons Cardenas & Cardenas in Colombia. This rapid growth has seen Dentons become the first truly Pan-LAC firm in the history of the legal profession.

Earlier this month, Dentons announced its intention to combine with two LAC firms, Rattagan Macchiavello Arocena in Argentina and Jiménez de Aréchaga, Viana & Brause in Uruguay, and with five firms in Africa, LEAD Advogados in Angola, Sayarh & Menjra in Morocco, Fernanda Lopes & Associados Advogados in Mozambique, Kyagaba and Otatiina Advocates in Uganda, and Eric Silwamba, Jalasi and Linyama Legal Practitioners in Zambia. Recently, Dentons also announced its intention to combine with three leading law firms in seven days: Kensington Swan in New Zealand, Gustavo Zacapa y Asociados in Honduras, and Lee International in South Korea. Dentons' partners have approved all three combinations.
