New York—Consistent with our commitment to diversity and inclusion, Dentons is filling two new roles announced last year to promote women at the firm and help them enhance their business development and marketing skills.

We are very pleased to announce that Amanda Jones will take on the role of Women's Advancement Director, and that Kate Broer will add the role of Women's Business Development to her current responsibilities.

These new roles that Amanda and Kate are now filling were first announced on June 16, 2017, the last day of the Dentons Partner Meeting in Toronto at our Global Women in Business Forum, which focused on the business imperative of advancing women in business.

Amanda is an Employment and Labor group partner in our Edinburgh office. She joined as part of the Maclay Murray Spens merger last year where she was a board member and head of the employment practice. In addition to her role as co-chair of the women's network in the UK, Inspire, and being a part-time employment judge in Scotland, Amanda is also a Director at Hibernian Football Club.

As Women's Advancement Director, Amanda will focus on the development and progression of women lawyers to partner and leadership positions. This will involve supporting leadership across the Firm and working closely with our Global Diversity & Inclusion Committee, WomenLEAD groups, our talent and professional development teams, as well as external organizations.

Kate, a partner in Toronto, has taken on a role focused on client development globally, and has been leading our successful Global Client Listening Program. Kate will add the Women's Business Development responsibilities to her existing role. Kate has been repeatedly recognized externally for her work on inclusion priorities, including by Catalyst Canada, the leading organization dedicated to accelerating progress for women.

With her new Women's Business Development responsibilities, Kate will support women partners and lawyers across the Firm through targeted programs focused on enhancing, supplementing and supporting their business development and marketing skills. Working closely with our marketing and business development teams there is opportunity for us to leverage some existing excellent programs and deliver leading levels of focused support.
