Dentons announces today that Seth Waugh has joined the Firm as a senior policy director in the Public Policy and Regulation practice, resident in the Washington, DC, office. Waugh has extensive experience directing policy initiatives and legislative strategies at the highest levels of the US government.

Before joining Dentons, Waugh served as the director of workforce policy for the US House of Representatives’ Committee on Education and the Workforce. Leading a team of more than a dozen staffers, he oversaw the development and implementation of the committee’s policy priorities and advised the committee chair, members, congressional staff and other stakeholders on issues affecting American workers and employers.

During his tenure, Waugh helped to pass several significant pieces of legislation in the House, navigating negotiations between congressional committees and House leadership along the way.

Waugh attained in-depth knowledge of labor, workforce, transportation, infrastructure, supply chain, defense and biomedical research policy through his roles directing government relations and political advocacy strategies for various groups representing industries including wholesale distribution, cement manufacturing and shooting sports. He led a successful initiative to get the wholesale distribution industry recognized as essential during the COVID-19 pandemic. Waugh was named to The Hill’s 2022 Top Lobbyists list in the associations category.
