Dentons has been named the Property and Construction Team of the Year – Mid-Large Practice at the African Legal Awards 2022 (AfLAs), as well as being Highly Recommended in Litigation & Dispute Resolution.

The AfLAs, held on 2 September 2022 in Johannesburg, recognises exceptional achievement from Africa’s legal elite, while showcasing the incredible talent working in and across Africa.

Dentons' award-winning Property and Construction deal team brought together a multi-jurisdictional and cross-disciplined team spanning Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Port Louis, including Alishka Singh, Robert Parring, Hugo Mclachlan (South Africa), Sivakumaren Mardemootoo, Harisha Teeluck (Mauritius), Logan Wright in London and Jean-Marc Allix in Paris. The team also drew in lawyers from Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire and Senegal working seamlessly to deliver a 'one firm' experience to the client.

This recognition follows Dentons in Kampala winning the Litigation Team of the Year and Excellence from the Bar 2022 at the Annual Uganda Law Society Conference on 26 August 2022. Partner and Head of Litigation, John Musiime won Excellence from the Bar 2022, spotlighting an advocate who has shown exemplary quality of practice and extraordinary legal achievement in litigation over the last year.
