Project costs were publicly estimated at $40 billion, making the project one of the largest energy investments in Canadian history. It brings together strategic investors Shell, PETRONAS, PetroChina, Mitsubishi Corporation and KOGAS, with support from First Nations, the local community, all levels of government, business, and labour. LNG Canada will export Canadian natural gas to Asian markets, and in the process, put Canada on the global map of LNG exporting countries and create a world-class liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry in British Columbia and Canada.
