The Firm is proud to announce that J. Winston Busby has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (“ACTEC”). ACTEC is a professional organization of approximately 2,500 lawyers who have demonstrated the highest level of integrity, commitment to the profession, competence and experience as trust and estate counselors.

Individual lawyers meeting the criteria for membership are nominated by Fellows of the College and are subjected to careful review by both state and national membership selection committees prior to consideration by the regents of the College. Fellows are selected on the basis of experience, professional reputation and ability in the fields of trusts and estates and on the basis of having made substantial contributions to these fields through lecturing, writing, teaching and bar activities.

As a shareholder in Dentons' Birmingham office, Busby serves as co-chair of the Dentons Sirote Trusts, Estates and Wealth Preservation practice and is a member of Dentons' United States Region Board. Admitted in Alabama and Florida, he provides counsel to individuals, families and business owners on estate planning, trust planning, wealth preservation, probate and tax planning, emphasizing strategies to minimize both estate and income taxes. Busby also works with closely held business owners on a variety of issues, including generational transfers and succession and tax planning. Additionally, he assists fiduciaries with the administration of trusts and estates.

Busby joins a distinguished group of Dentons ACTEC Fellows, which also includes state chairs and national regents in their respective states.
