On 2 March 2016, Global Arbitration Review (GAR) published its annual GAR100 ranking of specialist international arbitration law firms and its GAR30 ranking of elite arbitration law firms. Dentons was again ranked as part of the GAR30, in 14th position globally this year, the “highest riser” according to GAR. A number of high-value international arbitration cases were singled out by GAR, including the case of OAO Gazprom v. Republic of Lithuania, in which Dentons acted for the winning party. This arbitration gave rise to a landmark decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) on 13 May 2015 regarding the relationship between European law and international arbitration. The Gazprom decision of the CJEU was voted by GAR as the most important decision of the year 2015. GAR also highlighted Dentons’ tie-up with other major international arbitration specialist law firms, specifically Rodyk & Davidson in Singapore.

The American Lawyer magazine’s “International Arbitration Scorecard”, published in June 2015, had similarly ranked Dentons in 13th position globally for “large” international arbitration cases.
