London—Leading global law firm Dentons has successfully retained its place on Sainsbury's legal panel for the next three years, starting from 1 September 2023. Dentons will work with Sainsbury's Supermarkets Limited (SSL) on a range of workstreams, including real estate, real estate litigation, planning, construction, dispute resolution, corporate, commercial and competition.

Sainsbury’s, founded 150 years ago, has expanded over the years, incorporating a number of other major British household names under its umbrella including Argos and Habitat. It now counts 152,663 employees, and posted a revenue in 2023 of £31.5 billion, according to its financial report.

Lawyers at Dentons have been working with SSL for the over 20 years. Recent notable deals have included assisting with the acquisition of several "local fulfilment centres" – midsized depots in key network locations across the country with the intent of reducing last mile delivery cost and increasing coverage of same day delivery capabilities. The firm also worked on SSL's Convenience Store acquisition programme, to further Sainsbury’s continued expansion ambitions in this area of the business.
