Global law firm Dentons received seven awards at the 2020 European Women in Business Law Awards, organized by the Euromoney Legal Media Group. The awards recognize law firms which are taking a leading role in advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession in Europe. They also recognize the top women lawyers providing exemplary services and driving success for their practices.

Dentons received the award for the “Best International Firm for Pro Bono Work” in recognition of its pro bono support to organizations which protect the rights of women such as the National Centre for Domestic Violence, UN Women, Centre for Reproductive Rights, and Led by Her. Dentons also provides pro bono assistance to NGOs focused on the rights of the LGBT+ community, migrants, and religious and ethnic minority groups.

Dentons was awarded for “Best international firm for talent management” in recognition of the Firm’s innovative suite of development programs to help lawyers develop key leadership skills at critical moments during their career progression.

Dentons was recognized as the “Best UK (International) Law Firm” in terms of its overall approach to women’s advancement. This was the only jurisdictional category open to international law firms.

Paris-based partner Sandra Hazan, Co-head of Dentons’ Global and Europe Tax groups, received the award for “Best in Tax Litigation”. This is the second time she has been recognized in the Women in Business Law Awards – in 2019 she received the award for “Best in Tax”.

Nieves Briz, Barcelona Managing Partner and a partner in the Corporate and M&A group, received the award for “Best in Corporate Governance”.

Warsaw-based partner and Co-Head of the Europe Environmental Protection practice, Ewa Rutkowska-Subocz, won the award for “Best in Environment”.

Anna Maria Pukszto, Head of the Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy practice and the Litigation and Arbitration practice in Warsaw, won the award for “Best in Restructuring and Insolvency”.

Winners of the Europe Women in Business Law Awards are selected by senior Euromoney Legal Media Group editorial staff following an extensive research and peer review process. Individual winners are judged on their professional accomplishments as well as advocacy and influence within her field. Firm winners are judged on their ability to support the development of women in the legal profession.
