Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, announces today Region VIII of the National Bar Association (NBA) has elected partner Karen Jordan as director and managing associate Coretta Catlin as deputy director.

Jordan, a member of Dentons’ Corporate practice based in the St. Louis office, advises clients on debt and equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, investments, high-value procurements and other key corporate matters. She also represents nonprofits on various structure, governance and compliance issues. She has spoken widely on corporate law, municipal finance and the use of public incentives to finance private development. Jordan most recently served as Region VIII deputy director.

Catlin, based in Dentons’ Kansas City office, is a member of the White Collar and Government Investigations practice group. A former Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of California and an experienced trial lawyer, she advises businesses on high-stakes investigations by the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission and State Attorneys General. In July, Catlin was named one of National Black Lawyers’ Top 40 Under 40 for the second year in a row. She previously served as Region VIII secretary.

Founded in 1925, the National Bar Association is the nation's oldest and largest national network of predominantly African American attorneys and judges. Region VIII represents affiliate chapters and members in Arkansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
