Experience

KKR and Global Infrastructure Partners: Representing the consortium on finalizing US$15 billion acquisition and financing of CyrusOne, Inc. CyrusOne is a real estate investment trust (REIT) that designs, builds and operates data centers. The company has over 50 data centers across North America, South America and Europe, serving more than 1,000 customers. Real estate, employment, corporate and energy law advice was provided by Dentons’ multi-competency team of 150 lawyers from Europe (France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK), Latin America (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico), the US, Canada and Singapore.
GIC: Advising on the acquisition of a portfolio of EMEA sites upon which hyperscale data centers will be developed, as part of a larger global portfolio. The transaction was part of GIC’s US$3.9 billion joint venture with Equinix, the world’s digital infrastructure company, to develop and operate 17 xScale™ data centers across EMEA and South and Central America.
GIC: Advising on the acquisition of a pan-European logistics real estate portfolio "Maximus" from funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management for €950 million. Covering over 1 million sq.m. of industrial space, the Maximus portfolio comprises 28 logistics assets located in core logistics hubs across Europe, including Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Netherlands, Belgium and Austria.
Europa Capital: Advising on the sale of Project Axis logistics portfolio to Arrow Capital Partners and Cerberus Capital Management. The portfolio comprises 38 assets totaling 360,000 sq.m. split between the Netherlands and Germany and is let to a diverse range of e-commerce and 3PL occupiers.
Starwood Capital Group: Advising on multiple real estate investment transactions across Europe, including in Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
Heitman: Advising on virtually all major real estate acquisitions and sales across Europe.
Vonovia: Advising on the sale of a portfolio of Berlin apartments and commercial units to the municipal housing companies berlinovo, degewo and HOWOGE. Together with Deutsche Wohnen, Vonovia is selling a package of 14,750 apartments from the "Zukunfts- und Sozialpakt Wohnen" (Future and Social Housing Pact) to contribute to the expansion of municipal housing stock in Berlin and to counter the tight rental situation in the German capital. In addition, the companies are selling approx. 450 commercial units. Around 4,250 of the residential and commercial units originate from Vonovia's portfolio.
Oaktree Capital Management: Advising on the €880 million acquisition of Solvia Desarrollos Inmobiliarios, the real estate development arm of Banco Sabadell, S.A. (third biggest residential developer in Spain, worth some €1.3 billion).
Mediobanca: Advising on the €246.7 million acquisition of trophy asset Palazzo Cordusio in Milan, Italy. Built in 1901, the asset is now one of the most iconic buildings in the city.
Union Investment: Advising on the acquisition of the development project “Y-Towers” in Amsterdam. The project involves a total investment of €460 million and completion is scheduled for 2022. The landmark complex will feature two towers covering a gross floor area of ca. 106,000 sq.m. above and below ground. One tower, the tallest building in Amsterdam, will accommodate a conference hotel with 579 rooms operated by leading German hotel brand Maritim while the other tower will comprise 174 residential apartments.
GLP: Advising on the acquisition of a logistics portfolio in Italy consisting of seven A rated assets with total area of more than 200,000 sq.m., located in two main logistics hubs – Milan and Rome. The vendor was a fund managed by Tristan Capital Partners and Celio Fund – managed by BNP Paribas REIM SGR.
Lighthouse Capital: Advising on the €305 million acquisition of four shopping malls in France from Wereldhave, through the acquisition of property owning companies. The malls are: Docks Vauban in Le Havre, Docks 76 and Saint Sever in Rouen, and Rivetoile in Strasbourg.
CTP: Advising on the acquisition of Amsterdam Logistic Cityhub, valued at €307 million, which makes it the largest sum ever paid in the Netherlands for a single logistics asset. The logistics park in the Westelijk Havengebied in Amsterdam comprises 120,000 sq.m. of storage and distribution space and 11,000 sq.m. of office space.
Orion: Advising on the formation of a joint venture for the purposes of redeveloping the Levante waterfront in Genoa, Italy, as well as on several other significant real estate projects.
Confidential client: Advising on a joint venture agreement with local investors to develop The Dome, a €300 million real estate project at Frankfurt Airport. The project comprises the construction of a multifunctional sports and cultural arena (for 23,000 spectators at music and sports events), including a hotel and car park. Upon completion, The Dome will be the second largest multifunctional arena in Europe and may become the home venue of Frankfurt’s Löwen ice hockey team and Skyliners basketball team.
