Dentons is launching today a new office in Nicaragua to further our growth strategy in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Dentons has tapped Edgard Torres to lead the Dentons Muñoz office in Nicaragua. Edgard’s experience includes work in Constitutional, Civil, Labor and Employment Law as well as Dispute Resolution. He has advised local Nicaraguan clients as well as multinational and global companies with operations in the country.

As Dentons Muñoz, the Nicaragua office joins forces with previously opened offices in Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama, and San José and Guanacaste in Costa Rica. The six-lawyer office is located in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua.

Together the six offices in five Central American countries uniquely position Dentons to serve the growing cross-border work into and out of the Central American region and to provide high-quality legal services to clients around the world.

This new office follows closely upon our launch in the Caribbean and the announcement of our intention to combine with Larrain Rencoret Urzua in Chile. These moves came in the wake of rapid expansion in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a strategic alliance launched last year with Brazil's Vella Pugliese Buosi Guidoni, as well as a combination with Gallo Barrios Pickmann in Peru. These also follow the earlier launch of Dentons Muñoz, Dentons López Velarde in Mexico and Dentons Cardenas & Cardenas in Colombia. This rapid growth is part of Dentons' long-term strategy to build our presence in Latin America and the Caribbean.
