Dentons has been recognized as a leading global law firm for corporate investigations in the GIR 100 2021 ranking, published by Global Investigations Review, for the second year running.

The GIR 100 is an annual guide to the world’s leading investigations practices. Based on submissions from law firms and extensive research, Global Investigations Review selects the top 100 firms from around the world able to handle sophisticated cross-border government-led and internal investigations.

The ranking highlighted Dentons’ recruitment of high-profile talent around the world. In Milan, criminal lawyer Pasquale Annicchiarico joined as a partner along with two senior associates. In the US, partner Mark Califano, who works in both Washington DC and New York, joined from a global investigations firm. Dentons also promoted a new partner in Kansas City, Jacqueline Whipple. Partners David Campbell and Hayden Wilson joined in New Zealand, and Emanuela Vunge joined as a partner in Luanda as a result of Dentons’ combination with an Angolan law firm. Since ranking, former SEC lawyer David Kornblau also joined the team in New York.

Dentons continues to conduct cross-border investigations across Africa, the Americas, Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East with teams experienced with prominent enforcement agencies and local regulators around the world. For example, the Firm successfully resolved a seven year investigation by DOJ and the SEC across more than 12 jurisdictions, with a non-prosecution agreement for a global healthcare provider. In addition, Dentons has recently conducted investigations in southeast Asia for a technology firm, an investigation into bribery charges in China for a global manufacturing firm, and an investigation into whistleblowing claims in India for an Energy firm. Dentons has also represented the Middle Eastern subsidiaries of a global healthcare company in an internal investigation into corruption allegations; and a Micronesian official in a money laundering conspiracy charge, among others.

The ranking also highlighted Dentons’ global breadth – with more than 250 investigations lawyers in more than 30 countries worldwide, including recently added offices in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and New Zealand.
