Join Dentons for a webinar addressing the US Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). Our panelists will discuss the regulation of calls and text messages, sent by debt collectors and advertisers, to consumers' cell phones and landlines. They will also examine the requirements for sending faxed advertisements to businesses and consumers.

The TCPA presents a major litigation risk for companies in a wide variety of sectors, from retailers and restaurants to hotels and hospitals. Indeed, any consumer-facing company that uses autodialers to reach customers, either directly or through the use of third-party vendors, is subject to the statute. Penalties under the TCPA range from US$500 to US$1,500 per violation. Recent class action settlements have been in the millions of dollars.

This webinar will address recent developments in TCPA class actions, including the implications of the seminal Supreme Court decision in Spokeo, Inc. v. Robins. We will also offer strategies for avoiding litigation and charting compliance under the statute.
