Bratislava—Dentons’ Banking and Finance team has advised Dr. Max Group, a leading retail pharmacy chain in Europe, on the comprehensive refinancing of its bank debt and on raising additional financing to fund its strategic growth plans. The financing package of up to €940 million will enable Dr. Max to further develop and implement its omnichannel customer value proposition.

The Dr. Max Group is a Prague-headquartered pharmacy chain operating in Central and Eastern Europe. The company has more than 2,300 pharmacies in eight countries, including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria and Italy.

UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, a.s. and Komerční banka a.s. (a member of the Société Générale Group) arranged and coordinated the financing, which was provided by a club of 15 banks.
