The April 2020 edition of Business Alabama Magazine recently featured an introduction to the boards of 25 important public companies and influential economic and community development organizations in Alabama, “25 Important Boards to Know.” Among the list is the Board of Directors for Progress Bank naming Sirote shareholder Brad Sklar. Brad joined the board of Progress Bank in 2016. He is a current executive board member and shareholder of the Sirote firm and past co-chair of the firm’s Corporate and Tax Practice Group. In his practice, Brad focuses on complex tax, entity, and business planning transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, sales of businesses, sale and purchase structuring and funding of large real estate transactions, raising capital, and navigation of state and local tax incentives. He also coordinates the planning of transactions to maximize tax benefits, reduce risk, and comply with tax law at local, state, and federal levels, including incentive and economic development opportunities.

Brad has been recognized by numerous professional organizations, including Chambers USA (Corporate/Commercial) every year since 2012, The Best Lawyers in America© every year since 2003 in Tax Law, every year since 2014 in Corporate Law, every year since 2016 in Real Estate Law, and was named the Best Lawyers® Tax Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Birmingham in 2020 and 2018. He has been recognized by Mid-South Super Lawyers® and holds an AV-Preeminent Martindale-Hubbell^® Peer Review Rating™. He also finds time to serve on the boards of the Mountain Brook Board of Education and the University of Alabama.
