On March 27, 2024, the Act to prevent and fight psychological harassment and sexual violence in the workplace received Royal Assent, thereby enacting the majority of its provisions.

This Act introduces amendments to several Québec pieces of legislation, such as the Act respecting industrial accidents and occupational diseases (AIAOD), the Act respecting labour standards (ALS), the Act respecting occupational health and safety (AOHS ) and the Labour Code. The changes aim to safeguard workers from psychological harassment and sexual violence in the workplace and in the pursuit of their rights to seek recourse against such behaviour.

Our presenters provided insights into the implications of the Act to Prevent and Fight Psychological Harassment and Sexual Violence in the Workplace. We explored its impact on Québec employers and outlined the necessary measures and actions to be undertaken following its implementation.
