Caribbean—Dentons, the only Pan-Caribbean law firm is pleased to announce the promotion of two senior associates to Partnership and the transition of two Barbados based partners to regional roles. Effective 1 July 2022, these promotions reflect the exponential growth and upward trajectory of Dentons across the Caribbean and illustrates Dentons’ unwavering commitment to diversity, with two of these senior positions secured by women.

Erica Marshall-Forde has been appointed as Regional Head of the Firm’s Property and Real Estate team. Erica has been with the Firm for almost 10 years and has established herself as an authority in the areas of residential and commercial property and real estate matters as well as in the areas of hotels and resorts, infrastructure and PPP, and related finance. This well-deserved promotion will adjust Erica’s focus from Managing Partner of the Barbados office to leading the regional team in one of the Firm’s key practice areas across the Caribbean.

In line with our commitment to fostering the best local-talent, we are also proud to announce the promotion to Partner of Joia W. S. Reece who in the role of Senior Associate has been a critical member of the regional Litigation and Dispute Resolution team. Joia’s practice primarily focuses on bankruptcy and insolvency as well as general civil litigation matters. In addition, she regularly serves as lead on complex disputes in addition to supporting our Caribbean-wide employment and labour practice.

Michael Koeiman has been also promoted to Partner. His remarkable path to partnership spans 13 years in litigation and dispute resolution representing local, regional, and international clients within various courts across the region including the Caribbean Court of Justice. Michael regularly advises clients on matters related to commercial litigation, labour disputes, and multifaceted and cross-border insolvencies, restructuring and enforcements.
